What is a private flight?

There is more than one way to experience hot air ballooning in Cappadocia. Private flight offers the opportunity to fly in baskets with a capacity of 16 people. In a private flight, you have one-on-one contact with the pilot. In addition, you will have a unique flying experience with your family in the basket within the capacity. The duration of the private flight is set at a minimum of 60 minutes and a maximum of 75 minutes. This flight is also a sunrise flight. The flight departs approximately 15 minutes before sunrise. You will be able to see the sunrise from the sky.

Itinerary

You will be collected from your hotel in the morning by private car 30 minutes before your flight time. You will then be taken to the flight area. Here you will spend some time watching the balloon being prepared. Once the balloon is ready, the flight will begin. During the flight you will be served breakfast and drinks in a basket. After a 75 minute flight, you will be presented with a flight certificate. After spending some time in the flight area, you will be transferred back to the hotel.

What should I wear for the flight?

The weather can be very cold during the hot air balloon ride. For this reason, we may recommend that you dress in layers during the winter months. The air temperature changes as the balloon and the sun rise. You can dress according to the weather conditions. The summer months are generally hot. You can choose T-shirts, shirts or jackets. Sports shoes can be worn as a shoe preference.

Will my flight be cancelled?

The most important factor in ballooning is the weather. Therefore, it is possible that a flight may be cancelled. If this happens, you will be informed. In the event of cancellation, if there is availability the next day, our team will help you. Otherwise there is a full refund policy.

Note: The balloon basket is for 16 people. For this reason, you can only book a maximum of 16 people on a private flight.

Do we have to fly so early?
The best weather conditions are usually at this time. Usually in the early morning the wind is not too strong and there are no thermals. Moreover, watching the sunrise from a hot air balloon is a marvellous sight!
What do you have to wear?
The weather can be a little chilly in the early morning and quite cold in winter. But as the sun rises, it will warm up. So it is best to wear in layers. Warm and long trousers, t-shirts and long-sleeved sweaters or sweatshirts and shoes suitable for outdoor use will be the best options to wear. In winter or early spring it is best to bring a coat with you.
Where the balloons take off from?
Depending on the direction and speed of the wind, the take-off location may change. But be sure that no matter where the balloons take off, you will still be able to see the most fascinating valleys and the most beautiful landscapes of Cappadocia.
How High the balloons go?
This again depends on the wind. If the weather is calm, balloons can go up to 1000 feet. Sometimes you can get low enough to pick fruit from the trees.
Can you bring your children?
Children over the age of 5 can be accepted in hot air balloons, but unfortunately younger children are not accepted. Please note that pregnant women are also not allowed to ride the balloon.
Can you fly with Hot Air Balloon in winter time?
Yes, hot air balloons fly all year round, but from October to March there may be more cancellations due to weather conditions.
When does a flight will be cancelled?
Basically, what matters here is the speed of the wind. Again, if the rain is too heavy or there is fog, the flight may be cancelled. In order to take off safely, the wind must be less than 10 knots. If you have a few days in the area, you can try to fly the next morning. However, if you do not have time or do not want to try again, you will be fully refunded in case we cancel your flight.
